Songbird App Socializes And Personalizes Music
If Nokia is connecting people, then Songbird connects music fans. And no, we aren’t talking about Oasis’ Songbird.
You decide which group you would prefer getting connected with. (Hint – we choose music over people!)
Here at App Champ, we get dozens of App review requests a day, but prefer focusing mainly on Apps that do much more than they were programmed to do. That’s why we liked Apps such as Tracky, Benchmark Email and uTest so much – they have managed to form a community within their industry.
After all the hard work that we put in daily App testing, it was finally time to sit down and relax, listening to some of our favorite tunes.
But much like a convicted serial killer, a true App tester never rests, and our wonderful reporter Shane had took advantage of his relaxation to seek for a mobile alternative for iTunes and such.
And then came Songbird.
The well known desktop platform, that some say could replace Winamp or iTunes one of these days, is available on Android as a very comfortable App. Actually, it will bring you the finest results if you already own the desktop platform, as that’s when syncing music will go more smooth.
The interface is cozy and very intuitive – unlike when usually using a new software, this time you will not get lost in the field of a billion buttons.
Songbird acts a media player and thus contains the basic options of searching and playing, but uniquely socializing the entire experience. You could implement Flickr images of your favorite artists into their played songs and share your fav songs on your Facebook wall.
Furthermore, it actually personalizes the content you will see from your favorite artists, based on your favorite songs and social interests.
Songbird has been recently updated to version 2.4, so now you can see other music fans’ profiles and comment on just about anything.
The App is free at Google Play and is available for Android. Try Songbird and rate your experience with the AppChamp rating system below the post.
Major Update: App is also available for iOS!
